Since 1960
Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered.  Those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid.  Thus, the wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win.
Zhang Yu,  The Art of War

Though our curriculum is based upon Japanese martial systems, we recognize that there is a rich martial history in the western tradition which should not be overlooked in our studies. With this in mind, we have adopted a system of martial arts training that combines historically sound western tactics with traditional Japanese methodologies.

Our goal is to teach martial arts techniques that are appropriate for modern day, practical application while remaining true to the "original intent" of those who pioneered the arts. We do this by taking the hands on knowledge we have gained from many years of instruction from some of the worlds best martial artists and cross-referencing that knowledge to diverse historical manuscripts. The resultant program is one of academic challenge, philosophical and ethical development and vigorous physical practice.

We make no claims to turn you into a super-human, but, most people tell us that after studying with us for awhile, they consider themselves to be "better" persons than before they started.
