Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko, USA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing new and unique workshops and performances under the name of Okinawa and world peace. Consistent with the Okinawan (specifically the Ryukyu Kingdom) ideals, this chapter of Matsuri Daiko welcomes all people regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, social standing, or any other social/psychological/physical separator to join in dance and celebration of life, humanity, and happiness.

Combining movements from Javanese dance, Karate, Okinawan buyo, and most notably Eisa, Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko can be summed up as “Japanese drum dancing”. Unlike other Japanese drumming groups, Matsuri Daiko not only uses either live or recorded music but also requires choreography carrying, spinning and tossing a drum.
