In 1976 Trotta, Sensei's took over head instructor duties at the Phoenixville dojo when Flournoy, Sensei left to join the Pennsylvania State Police. In 1981 he opened his own martial arts school in Phoenixville teaching both Karate and Aikido. At the beginning of 1991 he turned over the operations of his school to his senior student in order to take on a full time position as an executive protection agent. In that capacity he trained with and instructed NYPD Tactical Units, corporate security personnel, Navy Seals, US Secret Service and other government agencies. In 1994 he was recruited by Henry Kissinger’s Protection Team. In 2002 he was hired by Blackwater Security and requested to train security agents in Iraq. He declined both offers in order to pursue other endeavors.
